SNOW DAY

Well, due to "ice pellets", it appears that school is cancelled for tomorrow (and possibly wednesday too). All this for "ice accumulation less than a quarter of an inch." I think that it's pretty funny considering that nowhere where I worked or went to school in the past 8 years would have even blinked an eye at that sort of weather. We would have been told to "drive carefully and plan for extra time" but that's it.

In other news, [livejournal.com profile] lordaerith and I have done lots of the cleaning and setting up that we REALLY should have done when we moved in, but didn't have the time. We've gone through pretty much everything and only have a few things left in the "where the hell does this go" pile. Also, we've gotten more stuff up to decorate our walls. hell, maybe with my extra day off, we'll even get the study decorated (oh, how happy I will be).

Also, we found out that because our apartment place subsidizes some of the cable bill, it wasn't that much more a month to get a DVR/HDTV converter. Made watching the Saints game really great because I could go back and relook at things that I missed. Also, we have it set up to always tape Mythbusters.

I have painted my nails black and gold for my boys. I just hope they don't freeze too badly when they play the Bears.

I have FINALLY finished Jacqueline Carey's The Sundering duology. Very interesting. I expected to be in absolute tears by the end, but I wasn't. Just sad, and pensive. Of course, this came after much screaming and yelling at the characters and not being sure which ones I wanted to succeed.

Kind of sad, actually, that I don't have class tomorrow since it would have been my Digital Libraries class, which I'm very excited about. Well, maybe I'll start on the next book on my list: Doppelganger by Marie Brennan.

Ouch!

Time travel makes my brain explode...

My brain all explody. Just watched the episode "Numbers" of Lost. makes the brain hurt.

Then there is the Cat Filked Ren Songs that [livejournal.com profile] lordaerith is playing. Makes the head hurt more.

Going to drum and dance. my last one. sadness.

Hurray! After reading it on and off (and mostly at lunch), I have finally finished Fagels translation of the Iliad. I really really liked it. I was able not only to follow the battle scenes, but even get involved in them. When Hector died I just couldn't stop crying. I was rooting for the Trojans the whole book....even though I knew they couldn't win. Maybe it's because I think most of the Greeks come across as assholes at one point or another. except big Ajax. I likes him. So now, [livejournal.com profile] omnia_mutantur gave me my first Jane Austin to read. I'm sure people at work will give me more strange looks.

Saw the pilot of Lost tonight. Holy fuck! I know bits about it from lunch room conversations, but wow! I want to see more, more, more!!!

Went to the dentist today. had two teeny tiny cavities sand + water blasted out. bleh. at least it wasn't drilling. my dentist is cool. she's a lefty, like me.

Got to sit outside this afternoon with Elektra. the post from earlier, written and posted from my lawn. I love wireless.

Now, time for bed.

being that 1) i have less modivation than usual to get things done and 2) i don't care, i'm updating again.

I had 2 really good days sandwiched between two really sucky days.

Teh suck:
Friday:  Too much cleaning to do for party = not being able to make it to game.  Well, at least we got the place very clean and got posters up in the study (finally).  Also got to hang with the [livejournal.com profile] kiten even if the dust made her sneeze and [livejournal.com profile] pyramus showed up for the weekend.

Today:  See today's eariler post.

The good:
Saturday: Went to Six Flags with pyramus, [livejournal.com profile] lordaerith and aerith's sister and  11-year old nephew.  His nephew was scared to go on rollercosters.  So we let the three who are crazy and like the upside down rides go off on our own and he and i hung out.  I got him on the swings that raise in the air and go around.  he liked those.  So then we went down and checked out the Poison Ivy ride.  I played it down a bit for him.  So he agreed to go on it and I agreed that if he didn't like it, no one would preasure him onto another coster all day.  We get right on the ride (it was cool enough that there were almost no lines for anything).  I put my arm around him and then the ride starts.  It's a little bit more intense than I expect it to be and definatly more shakey.  I'm worried that he hates it.  However, when the ride is over, the only thing that he wants to do is to go on it again :)  So we do.  This time we sit near the front and i even get him to put his arms up once or twice.  He wants to go again, but i sugest we try something else.  We get a quick snack and do the swings again.  This time he sits on the outside swing and takes his hands off of the bars and everything.  So then we check out the Thunderbolt.  I tell him that it's not much worse than the Poision Ivy and I know that he can do it.  So we get in line.  There's this kid in front of us who keep talking and talking.  Anyway, we finally get onto the ride.  He says that he's scared and I explain that that's part of the thrill of the coster.  During the Thunderbolt I look at him and every time we hit a downhill part his head is tucked into his arm.  I'm sure by the end that it was too much.  But the first words out of his mouth was "that was awesome. I want to take my mom on it."  hehehe.  I win!  We go meet up with the others at the meet-up spot and get food.  Then he, his mother, and I do the teacups and get nice and dizzy.  Then we go to the other end of the park and he and I do the scrabler (which he now thinks is a wimpy ride).  Then his mother and I do the Cyclone.  When we get back to the boys, we go up to him and say, "hey, you wanna know what the Cyclone is like?" then I shake him while his mother punches him in the arm.  Everyone is laughing.  Then [livejournal.com profile] pyramus and I wander around for a while and we find an airbrush tattoo place so I get "KITTY" airbrush tattood on my lower back.  I don't think i have enough courage for a real one though.

When we get home, i realize that i need a 233 tip to decorate the cat cake that i made.  So I call up the party store.  They are have it, but are about to close.  As aerith isn't feeling well, we leave him at home and [livejournal.com profile] pyramus and i run to the party store for the tip and then head over to the store for booze and food for the party.

When we get back, I decorate the cake while the boys rest (aerith's sis and nephew have left by this point).  PE shows up from eastern mass and we put on Firefly to show it to him (btw, thank you [livejournal.com profile] queencimmy, you are the best sis ever!!).  Slowly other people start to trickle in.  It was a really small party, but good.  The cake came out really well as did aerith's butterscotch icecream.  And I got to cuddle with [livejournal.com profile] starcatsinging which was much wonderfulness.  Finally it was just a few of the boys and they started up [livejournal.com profile] godspiel's game cube.  I took this as my cue to go upstairs and go to bed (as i was the only one who went to six flags who didn't get to rest after the park).

Sunday:  We get up.  [livejournal.com profile] pyramus and PE leave.  Aerith's mother shows up.  We take her to the Warfield House Inn.  The ride is beautiful as the leaves are all turning colors.  It's a beautiful view from the Warfield House Inn.  We eat in the pub part.  The food is good (as always) and I win $1 at Keno (his mother paid for a game for all of us).  Also, Aerith and I got to talk with the owners a bit about our wedding, which is always good.  There's still a lot to be decided.  But we now have a ceremony start time (3 pm) and a reception is over and Andrea will kick us out with cattle prods time (10pm).  Also, we got to see the downstairs room set up almost exactly how we want it, which is cool.  The dance floor is slightly smaller than i would like, but it will do.  Also, I got florist recomendations and the first one on the list is one that someone at work mentioned too.  so that's a good sign.  And i found out that open flame is ok as long is it's not tapers.  Pillar candles, here we come!

Right, time to do something.  bleh.

The day started out with "Hush" and "Once More With Feeling" on FX. Got to see all the way though Tara's song before I had to leave for work. And then...I got pulled over for "speeding and not using the right lane". The cop waved the speeding fee (I had my cruse control set!)...but still. The thing is that I thought about moving into the right lane, but there were cars up ahead, so I decided that it would be better not to move over just to move back, espcially b/c it near an on ramp and the roads were wet. Is really really shitty. I was shaking/half crying all the rest of the way to work. At least I got to work on time. This really was the LAST thing I needed!

so, of course I HAD to get my period during finals. Now I am tired and grumpy and pissy and i can't focus on my latin at all!!!! This really sucks. I wanted to be ALL studied and take the test at 9am and then the cs test at 2 so that i could see Buffy and then go to Haven. Now it looks like i'm going to have to take the Latin test at 2, go to the library and the computer labs afterwards, and the cs test at 7. I pray that the cs test will be easy (it should be) and that i'll be back home in time to see most, if not all, of Buffy. Then I will go to haven. Then I will wake up on wed and study for my American theatre test and take that either at 2 or at 7. then i will spend thurs writing my paper for Opera and then i will be DONE.

I just wish i didn't have to bother with my stupid period. i wish that it wasn't here because then i wouldn't be so tired and unfocused. I just hope that i can focus better tomorrow with the clock ticking down.

must sleep now. night night me.

So, it's Spring Break.

Guess what it did today? SNOW! Argh!

Gamed on Saturday. Was good. Am now a 6th level Cleric. Finally got over the 35xp i needed. yay!

Met Nayone's dad yesterday. That was strange, but i think it went well. I was a little worried when he showed up and 3Gs parents were around, but it all went ok. yay yay. Swan hurt his ankle and so Aerith drove him to the hospital and the Brewery gave us our lunch for free b/c of this. that was cool, but not cool that Swan hurt himself. Watched Sybil on tv. was really good. I have to read the book one of these days.

today has been kind of bleh. I've worked a bit on my paper which is good. I have a lot to say, but sometimes i just can't seem to express it right. blerg. Watched the boys play more of "Grand Theft Auto 3" Amusing, but kind of stupid. makes me bored.

bored bored bored bored bored. i wish there was something more interesting to do besides watch tv/movie/video games, try to work on paper/play on line, and eat lots of chocolate. i could read, but i don't really want to right now. bored bored bored bored bored bored bored bored bored. blerg blerg.

thursday my sis and I went to the mall. We drove WAY past the exit on the highway and had to turn around and go back down Vets. We finally made it to the mall. We had the best time wantering into all the stores at Lakeside that we have visited hundredes of times before. Express is selling thier long sleeve shirts again. Anyone in NoHo want to go to the mall with me so i can buy more of them sometime after I get back?

Then we went into Vicky Secs. There were these really beautiful corsets there and they came in all different colors. We started looking for smalls in the sky blue (for me) and the red (for cim). A sales lady came over to us and asked us if she could help us. We explained how we were looking for smalls, but it is so hard to find them. In the corse of taking to her, it came out that we were sisters (no shock there, we look like sisters!). Finally, I found a small in the blue but Cim couldn't find one in red. We went into the dressing room so she could help me into the corset. Then the sales lady started calling out for her "sisters". She had rememebered that they always put smalls on the manaquins and so got Cim a small. The two of us hooked eachother up and tightened the laces and so on. it was SOOO Victorian!!! We were laughing really hard. Then we showed the sales ladies how we looked. We looked good. I wish we had a camera. But, alas, the corsets were $78 each! We had to talk our way out of them pretty quickly. I think they are still on hold for us at the store. oops. i should call them about it. oh well.

Then I drove us to Linen and Things so Cim could get a shower tote. We must have spent half an hour there before she finally decided on the one that was the first one i pointed out to her. :)

Yesterday I got up late and cleaned up and stuff because the relatives were coming around 10pm. Mom went out to dinner w/her lady friends. I showed Cim Invader Zim which she had never seen. The episodes were ok, not the best ones i've seen.

Then Z-dude (as Cim's b/f will now be called) and Blue-Skunk (as my "brother" will now be called) showed up. Z-dude had just driven in from ULL. He and Cim disappeared into her room (no surprise there), but not before the discovery that they were both stoned. So, Blue-Skunk and I went out on the back porch and smoked up. hehehehe. Then Cim and Z-dude went out with friends and Blue-Skunk and I went out to Ninos's. I had never been out while stoned before. Very interesting experiance. We got home before 10. around 10 my aunt, uncle, cousins, and little 2nd cousin (who's three) showed up. Then after aunt and uncle left (they are staying at Grandpa's), mommy showed up. Cuz J, Blue-Skunk, and I went out on the porch and made Cuz S worry that Cuz J is going to get kicked out of the Peace Core before she even goes to Africa b/c of a non-existant random drug test. But we had fun. And then tried to watch Monty Python. Way too much for us sometimes *G* SPAM SPAM SPAM SPAM! Well, Cuz S and little-dude are up, so i should get off of the computer and hang out with them.
