Yesterday [livejournal.com profile] lordaerith and I drove down to Six Flags Fiesta Texas and met up with [livejournal.com profile] cjovalle, qyandri, and gruff there. We went on a bunch of their coasters, the cute little Scooby-Doo Haunted ride, where you get to try to blast things with "light", and stuff. When walking around, I looked at their Superman Krypton coaster and decided that even though it had twists and turns like the Batman - The Dark Knight coster at Six Flags, I wanted to try it. Now, for those of you who don't remember, last time I went on the Batman ride, I had a really bad experience. However, this Superman coster looked much more spread out, so I wanted to see if I could handle it. Aerith, Qyandri, Gruff and I got in line and I was really scared, but aerith asked me if I'd rather do this or see a cockroach. Well, irrational fear of cockroaches or fear of falling to my death...cockroaches are worse. So, we got on the coaster, and Aerith pointed out just how well the wheels grip the track, which helped. And the ride was actually a lot of fun. It's partially built into a cliff, so one of the turns is high off the ground, but low into the cliff. I had a death grip on the harness, but I was only really really scared once. I think that because the Superman Krypton coaster is longer than the Batman one, the twists aren't so close together so I had time to recover before getting flipped upside down again. I was smiling when the ride was over. I would totally do it again. And maybe one day, I'll even be able to enjoy the Batman one. :) I rule!

Friday night came home from work craving pizza. Had pizza. Crocadile pizza :)

[livejournal.com profile] omnia_mutantur and [livejournal.com profile] wandelrust came over with a PS2 game that takes place in alternative-reality Ancient Greece (hey, it was the only thing they could say to stop me from complaining about time period and historical inacuratness...well, I have to put my B.A. to good use somehow). But the game itself was pretty. And omnia did my dishes b/c she rocks my world!!

Saturday invovled getting up uber-early (for a saturday) and heading down to Six Flags with Aerith, Artemis, and the Frenchman. Was lots and lots of fun. We went on the new "Mr. Six's Pandimonium" which is this nifty spinny coster thing. Going up the first steep incline backwards was definatly a new experiance for me. Also, I was brave and tried the Batman. I liked it until we got to the corkscrews. I don't like being turned upside down by corkscrews. Aerith said he could actually tell when my screams turned from those of enjoyment to those of terror. I started crying when the ride ended. The verdict: loops = good, corkscrews = bad. At least we know this for when we go to other amusement parks. It took us an hour to ride the Superman b/c the seats kept not letting people out of them. I was like, "hey, if i get stuck I want to ride it again" but no one got stuck when we rode.

After Six Flags, I started crashing. We went and got some food, but that didn't help to much. Ended up napping when we got home. Then Aerith, Artemis, and I went out for Cold Stone and visited [livejournal.com profile] starcatsinging at her place of employment. Then came home and watched Pitch Black.

Sunday was spent hanging around the house and doing house type stuff. Grilled dead things for dinner and watched more Carnivale. One episode to go to finish season two. Then had ice cream, which didn't agree with me.

Now it's time to get back to work.

me again

being that 1) i have less modivation than usual to get things done and 2) i don't care, i'm updating again.

I had 2 really good days sandwiched between two really sucky days.

Teh suck:
Friday:  Too much cleaning to do for party = not being able to make it to game.  Well, at least we got the place very clean and got posters up in the study (finally).  Also got to hang with the [livejournal.com profile] kiten even if the dust made her sneeze and [livejournal.com profile] pyramus showed up for the weekend.

Today:  See today's eariler post.

The good:
Saturday: Went to Six Flags with pyramus, [livejournal.com profile] lordaerith and aerith's sister and  11-year old nephew.  His nephew was scared to go on rollercosters.  So we let the three who are crazy and like the upside down rides go off on our own and he and i hung out.  I got him on the swings that raise in the air and go around.  he liked those.  So then we went down and checked out the Poison Ivy ride.  I played it down a bit for him.  So he agreed to go on it and I agreed that if he didn't like it, no one would preasure him onto another coster all day.  We get right on the ride (it was cool enough that there were almost no lines for anything).  I put my arm around him and then the ride starts.  It's a little bit more intense than I expect it to be and definatly more shakey.  I'm worried that he hates it.  However, when the ride is over, the only thing that he wants to do is to go on it again :)  So we do.  This time we sit near the front and i even get him to put his arms up once or twice.  He wants to go again, but i sugest we try something else.  We get a quick snack and do the swings again.  This time he sits on the outside swing and takes his hands off of the bars and everything.  So then we check out the Thunderbolt.  I tell him that it's not much worse than the Poision Ivy and I know that he can do it.  So we get in line.  There's this kid in front of us who keep talking and talking.  Anyway, we finally get onto the ride.  He says that he's scared and I explain that that's part of the thrill of the coster.  During the Thunderbolt I look at him and every time we hit a downhill part his head is tucked into his arm.  I'm sure by the end that it was too much.  But the first words out of his mouth was "that was awesome. I want to take my mom on it."  hehehe.  I win!  We go meet up with the others at the meet-up spot and get food.  Then he, his mother, and I do the teacups and get nice and dizzy.  Then we go to the other end of the park and he and I do the scrabler (which he now thinks is a wimpy ride).  Then his mother and I do the Cyclone.  When we get back to the boys, we go up to him and say, "hey, you wanna know what the Cyclone is like?" then I shake him while his mother punches him in the arm.  Everyone is laughing.  Then [livejournal.com profile] pyramus and I wander around for a while and we find an airbrush tattoo place so I get "KITTY" airbrush tattood on my lower back.  I don't think i have enough courage for a real one though.

When we get home, i realize that i need a 233 tip to decorate the cat cake that i made.  So I call up the party store.  They are have it, but are about to close.  As aerith isn't feeling well, we leave him at home and [livejournal.com profile] pyramus and i run to the party store for the tip and then head over to the store for booze and food for the party.

When we get back, I decorate the cake while the boys rest (aerith's sis and nephew have left by this point).  PE shows up from eastern mass and we put on Firefly to show it to him (btw, thank you [livejournal.com profile] queencimmy, you are the best sis ever!!).  Slowly other people start to trickle in.  It was a really small party, but good.  The cake came out really well as did aerith's butterscotch icecream.  And I got to cuddle with [livejournal.com profile] starcatsinging which was much wonderfulness.  Finally it was just a few of the boys and they started up [livejournal.com profile] godspiel's game cube.  I took this as my cue to go upstairs and go to bed (as i was the only one who went to six flags who didn't get to rest after the park).

Sunday:  We get up.  [livejournal.com profile] pyramus and PE leave.  Aerith's mother shows up.  We take her to the Warfield House Inn.  The ride is beautiful as the leaves are all turning colors.  It's a beautiful view from the Warfield House Inn.  We eat in the pub part.  The food is good (as always) and I win $1 at Keno (his mother paid for a game for all of us).  Also, Aerith and I got to talk with the owners a bit about our wedding, which is always good.  There's still a lot to be decided.  But we now have a ceremony start time (3 pm) and a reception is over and Andrea will kick us out with cattle prods time (10pm).  Also, we got to see the downstairs room set up almost exactly how we want it, which is cool.  The dance floor is slightly smaller than i would like, but it will do.  Also, I got florist recomendations and the first one on the list is one that someone at work mentioned too.  so that's a good sign.  And i found out that open flame is ok as long is it's not tapers.  Pillar candles, here we come!

Right, time to do something.  bleh.

poor kitty

well, Spectre finally got neutered yesterday. Poor thing! but the vet was really nice and said that he was a very good boy the whole time.

however, he wasn't allowed to eat anything after 8pm on tuesday or before 8pm on wed. He was such a hungery kitty! He kept jumping in the trash can trying to find food in there. I was so glad when I could finally give him food!

Then this morning I was awakened by his yaweling at the door at 6:30am. So I got up and let him in and he was very good and cuddely. I think that he just wanted to be with us b/c I put out more food for him, but he ignored it and followed me around.

I think that he is recovering well. I really hope so.

In other news, after we dropped the kitty at the vet, Aerith and I went to Six Flags! I LOVE HAVING A SEASON PASS! We got to get in at 9 (instead of 10) and therefore there was NO LINE for the Superman. I really love that ride (except for the first climb). So between 9:15 and 10 we went on Superman twice, the Scream (my other fave), and the Thunderbolt. After that we were like "We might as well go now", but we hung out till about 12, riding another ride or two (not the big ones) and eating over priced food. We didn't bring our suits b/c we didn't think that the weather was going to be hot enough. but it was. if we had known that we probably would have stayed longer and gone into the water park. oh well.
