Friday night lordaerith went to go see How to Train Your Dragon. It was a fairly typical kids movie plot, but ZOMG SO CUTE! Want dragon!!! We went to the Lake Creek Drafthouse where that night they were also playing all three Evil Dead movies and so some of the waitstaff were dressed up like zombies. It was truly awesome.

Saturday we headed over to pyroyo007's for his annual crawfish boil (after feeding byskwik's cats). We were only going to stay for a little while, but I ended up staying for a long time (Aerith had another thing, so he left and then came back). Mmmm...crawfish.

That night we were going to do one of the 4 or 5 different things that we knew of, but we were so dead from the day that we came home, had ice cream and crashed (after feeding byskwik's cats).

Sunday I got up and went to a brunch meeting (after feeding byskwik's cats). After the meeting I drove home, picked up lordaerith and our Ren garb and headed out to Sherwood Forest Faire. Took us about an hour to get there (we got a little confused a few times...especially because the right turn after turning off of 290 isn't well marked) and another 20 or so to get dressed due to laces and winds and dust.

The faire itself was really nice. I think it was a great size with lots of artists, vendors, musicians, etc. OMG, the Italian food place! Got to see the Austin Browncoats, my friends at Abzu Emporium, and listen to the lovely Tulstin Troubadours. I got my hair braided really pretty with flowers and glitter and everything. knighthorse took pictures and hopefully a few came out well.

The only thing that really disappointed me about the faire was the lack of interaction between the Faire's actors and the faire goers. I almost literally ran into Robin Hood at one point, but nothing...not that I have a character or anything, but aren't they supposed to?

Came home and pretty much fell over.

So much to do today that it's time for...the to do list!

• Math Computing 2 - started
  
• Finish Updated Data Dictionary
  
• Go to campus to work on Access Database - stayed home and used Aerith's computer instead. Have basic tables and relationships done. I now understand why Access 2007 is so much nicer than Access 2003.
  
• Look over Management group work, make changes / suggestions as needed.
  
• Read about grants for Management
  
• Go to the grocery store
  
• Take out money for dinner tomorrow night
  
• Eat Lunch
  
• Clean up kitchen (just a little to do)
  
• Clean cat water bowl


• Clean toilets...because they are teh nasty!
  
• Call Dr's office for follow-up
  
• Call Pita Pit about double charge
  
• Go by Pita Pit with bank statement to reverse double charge
  
• Make dinner

I'm sure there's something I'm forgetting...but I just can't think of it now. (Edit: thought of it and added it to the list))

Excalibur Faire starts this weekend! Aerith and I are planning on going this weekend, and, as usual we would like to go with a group of people. Therefore, it's time for a poll.

Just know that if it's another weekend, then it will probably have to be on a Sunday...because I work on Saturdays.

If tomorrow isn't so hot we'll all melt, aerith, artemis and I plan on going to the Vermont Ren Faire.

Friday around 5 lordaerith and I left to go visit queencimmy at SLC. We got there with almost no hassle at all. With Aerith's help I was actually able to SEE the sign to turn onto the 3rd highway for unlike last time. We got there and ended up waiting for Cimmy and her suitemate, Pirate Wench (so called b/c of her obsession w/pirates and the fact that she spent a semester at sea), for about half an hour before I finally called them to see what was up. They thought we were getting in a little later than we did. So, we went back to their suit, which is in a dorm called "Titsworth" *giggle*. After hanging out for a little bit and finding out that Pirate Wench and I are too alike for our own good, we went to see Secretery b/c neither of our hosts had seen it and well, Aerith and I really like it.

Saturday morning we got up early to go to the Faire. The drive there was pretty easy and painless, except for the time I didn't see the break lights ahead of me (i was looking at road signs) and so had to hit the breaks really fast. Yay for good breaks, boo on squeeling tires and the smell of burnt rubber, but at least I didn't hit anything :). We got to the faire a little later than we wanted to (we wanted to make it for opening, oh well) and it was kind of drizzly out. We changed into garb (all nice and laced up) and went in.

First we walked around the faire and saw all the booths and everything. It's HUGE! The main problem was that it kept varrying from overcast to drizzley to rainy and it seemed that whenever we went into a little shop it would stop raining and whenever we came out it would start all over again. Kind of felt like really being in England for real. As safirerings put it, I love corsets ( why corsets rock )

Aerith bought some bracers (which I thought were to keep his sleeves out of his food, but were really to keep them out of the way of the ring) and a pouch from this leather store and we saw these really pretty pewter goblets. The woman selling them said that they were good for weddings, and I showed her my hand and said "do you see a ring?" Little did I know what was to happen later that day.

We had soup bowls for lunch b/c by the time we were hungry we were also very cold and the rain had soaked through part of our cloaks. After lunch we went by Moresca and Cimmy tried on a full outfit. ( My sister and I )

Then we walked around some more and sat by the glass blowers to try to warm up a bit. I wasn't feeling so well, so I had to have my corset loosened. Then I felt better. :)

After we all rested we were like "let's go take pictures at the Kissing Bridge." Well, you know what happened there. Aeirth proposed. ( pictures of the proposal )

I was so happy. I really couldn't believe it happened. I think the first thing I said, after "yes", was "is this for real?" And I have to confess, I made Aerith write down what he said. Once he got on his knees, I heard what he was saying, but it wasn't registuring b/c I was so happy and was in such total shock.

Almost right afterwards, when I was walking around on a cloud, this guy randomly commented on my ring and so i got to tell him how it just happened and then show his whole family. :)

We walked around some more and made more bawdy jokes with the pickle venders and the guy selling frozen balls of strawberry and orange flavored ice. We saw a live action chess game, but it sucked a lot and was no where near as cool as SSFFSs ever are. Then we ran into witch-child and her mother (who we used to game with) and DJ P from Haven. And there was more ring showing. After that we were tired and soaking wet so we decided to leave, but not before Cimmy bought Aerith and I the glasses that we had been looking at earlier. I got to show the woman that i had shown a hand with no ring the same hand now with a ring.

After that we left and Aerith drove back to SLC. I called my mother along the way. She knew it was going to happen. After getting back and calling a zillion people, I found out that a lot of my friends knew it was coming, so did my tartot cards even, but somehow they all kept it secret from me. Then we went to this "block party" thing at the Pub. Free food and getting to show off my ring, yay! The music, while oldies, which i love, was way too loud and once again I discoved that I just can't dance to it.

Sunday we got up and went to brunch where I ran into vocable, who i found out also knew. It was good to see her again :) Got to give her the update on people's lives (besides my own). During brunch my father called. He knew too. After brunch and intruducing Pirate Wench to Puzzle Pirates, Aerith and I drove back home. We got a little lost b/c I was going to go East and Aerith insisted that it was West I wanted to go, but it was East. I was right. But it was really easy to turn around (after stopping and getting directions). Of course none of that would have happened if the instructions were with us and not in my other pair of jeans. We made it back just fine though. I thought I wasn't going to be able to make the whole drive back, but I did :)

That night we celebrated our engagement. :)

I'm so happy. I can't believe it's finally happened. We've been dating for almost 5 years now ;) Tonight wild horses couldn't keep me away from Haven.
