The guys are napping and I should be either napping or doing dishes or unpacking (oh the unpacking), but I had an urge to do some good old fashioned journalling. We'll see if it lasts.

This morning I woke up at 6:30am and realized I couldn't remember when over night my Little Prince had nursed. I really don't want to jinx it, but I'm pretty sure he slept through the night (or mostly through the night)! I got up and fed the boy-cat so that he wouldn't annoy us in bed. Then I went back to bed and breastfeed LP on and off for a while while I tried to doze a bit. Then I couldn't decide if I should get out of bed and shower or just play on my phone. Eventually [livejournal.com profile] lordaerith woke up and motioned for me to go shower (at 7:30) so I did. Came out of the bathroom to a wide awake LP.

Got LP changed and set up in his high chair with breakfast, got breakfast for myself and Skyped with mom while Aerith became human again (aka showered and had a cup of coffee). Aerith started a warm wash. Then we made a shopping list and headed to the store. It was drizzling when we got into the car. It was raining when we got into the store. It was POURING when we left the store.

Got home and prepped Turkey, Yam, and Apple stew and had leftover Chuy's for lunch. LP seems to really like their refried beans.

Tried to put LP down for a nap at his usual nap time, but he was NOT having it. Worked with Aerith to get our closet more organized while LP played in the closet. We've made some good progress.

Decided since LP wasn't napping or showing any signs of being tired to curl up on the couch-as-a-bed and watch Monsters, Inc (and at the end there must have been some dust in the air, which is why Aerith and I were teared up). Much better than watching the Saints game (from what I could tell). LP watched some of it and played on the couch-bed and on the floor for the rest of it.

Called my MIL to say hi. Started to talk to her about the idea of having a big family and friends party for LP in New Orleans for his birthday - Memorial Day weekend.

Finally got LP (and Aerith) to take a nap. I'm sure it's going to mess up their bedtimes, but they were both so exhausted. I wish I could have napped with them, but I wasn't falling asleep and there's was a cold wash to start (it's in now) and dishes to be washed. But for now I'm just enjoying sitting at the breakfast table looking out the window at my soggy suburban neighbourhood.

Yesterday [livejournal.com profile] lordaerith and I celebrated seven years of marriage without killing each other. Hurray!

We went out to The Cheesecake Factory as a family to celebrate. Our Little Prince kept us entertained throughout a good chunk of the meal by playing "dip the straw into the mug of water, pull it out, causing splashing, dunk it back in, and occasionally try to drink from the straw" all while squealing with happiness most of the time. My cheeks hurt after dinner from smiling so much. Didn't get any pics or video because we wanted to be in the moment.

Today Aerith and I both took the day off from work. I took LP into daycare so we had the whole day to just the two of us. We were originally going to go to Shilterbaun or to Barton Springs or something, but the day looked rather ominous for being outside, and so we ended up spending most of the day cuddling on the couch watching stuff that had piled up on our DVR (lots of HIMYM). I think it was a day that we really needed. Just a day to cuddle and reconnect and be lazy together. Ok, at one point I got annoyed that we were staying inside and that I wanted to go swimming... and then we started to hear the rolling thunder, so well played Universe.

Then we got LP from daycare, had stir-fry for dinner, played with LP, gave him a bath, put him to bed, and watched more HIMYM while finishing our desserts from yesterday.

And now, to bed.

Yesterday [livejournal.com profile] lordaerith and I went to the 33 1/3rd Annual O.Henry Pun-Off. We got there after the Punniest in Show started and stayed through 1.5 rounds of Punslingers. Some of the Punnist in Show was really great...some of it was only so-so...and some of it would have probably been better if certain people knew how to use their microphones. The Punslingers was interesting. I thought it would be funnier, but sometimes it was just painful, and not in a good groaning way. In a "Use your microphone" or "I can come up with three puns on that topic, why can't you" or "Your opponent was funnier and really should have won that round" kind of way. I wonder if it would have gotten better if we had stayed into the later rounds.

Here is the performance of the winners for Punniest in Show. It's a really great piece.

In between the two sections, there was an auction. One of the prices was 4 tickets to go see an upcoming Gilbert & Sullivan performance. Aerith and I bid on them and won. :) The production is right around the time of our anniversary. :)

We left the Pun-Off early and had dinner at the Athenian Grill, which was really yummy.

After dinner we headed to the Paramount to see the Alamo Drafthouse's presentation of UHF with Weird Al. First they did a little bit of a sing-a-long with some of his videos, then they showed the movie, then they brought out Al for a Q&A. The movie is just as awesome as always. There's something about watching it in a room full of people who also love the movie that just makes it that much better. And Q&A with Al was good too. He mentioned going on tour again sometime soon. I hope he comes to Austin. Considering that the theatre had sold out in 3 minutes, he's got to know that he has a huge fan base here.

The Frenchman is visiting me this weekend, which is awesome. He flew in yesterday. Last night I took him to Kerby Lane Cafe for dinner and then we met up with [livejournal.com profile] lordaerith and [livejournal.com profile] gailmom at the Spider House and when to The Burlesque For Peace. The show was a lot of fun. Some of the performers were really good. After the show I drove the Frenchman around a bit of downtown Austin.

This morning [livejournal.com profile] gailmom and I snuck out and brought back breakfast tacos for breakfast. This afternoon the Frenchman and I took a walk around my neighbourhood.

Right now the three of us are at the Salt Lick waiting for a table. Since the wait is really long, the Frenchman and I went over to the table where some people were selling Girl Scout cookies. When they saw that the Frenchman had a beer in his hand, one of the mothers mentioned that Shortbreads go well with beer. Sometimes I love Texas.

Yesterday after work I helped MDB with the final part of her capstone by playing theatre techie. She did this two week workshops with some kids that included them making short movies. Yesterday was the screening of the movies for their families. I'm really glad that I came with her because I was able to speak Tech to the tech director of the theatre where the stuff was being shown. We ended up setting up a projector and screen attached to an independent sound system. After MDB left to go get the kids, [livejournal.com profile] lordaerith showed up to help also (actually, he was the one that originally was supposed to be helping). He talked to the tech director guy a bit, and fiddled with the lights so that there could be a spotlight on the stage.

The whole thing went pretty well. I worked sound and computer from the middle of the audience and Aerith worked lights from the booth. The movies were actually pretty well done for middle-school age productions.

After it was over, Aerith and I headed out to Central Market for Poly dinner. Yay for seeing people that we haven't seen in ages and ages. Had some good food and good conversations. Found out that [livejournal.com profile] juliarandolph got me a present. Also started talks for a showing of Jesus Christ Vampire Hunter because more people need to see that movie. The Alamo Drafthouse's Rolling Roadshow was showing Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory at Central Market that evening also, but Aerith was getting really tired, so we left just as the movie was starting.

Currently I am avoiding doing work at work. It's cold in here.

had a good weekend.

[livejournal.com profile] lordaerith picked me up friday after work and we headed home to take a nap. That night we went out to Elysium for A Tribute to Depeche Mode night. All Depeche Mode all night. It was fabulous. Got there early (10-ish) and found out that almost everyone there was either from my group of friends or from the poly group :). Since there weren't that many people there at first, I got decent chunks of the dance floor to myself. Yay. Got to dance with a little flogger - dancing with props is lots of fun. We left around 1am, when it was starting to get more crowed and smokey and my feet were really starting to hurt.

On saturday day I finally got to my math homework. Hurray. I loves the math! That night we went out to dinner with [livejournal.com profile] eliset and her crew for Indian. It was only okay (our waiter reminded us of a used car salesman), but the company was wonderful. Invited them back to our place bouncy bouncy for Guitar Hero and a walk to Amy's Ice Cream. Yay for cool people and a fun night.

On sunday I read lots and lots and lots for my classes. So much reading. And I worked more on my now in php online portfolio.

For thanksgiving diner [livejournal.com profile] lordaerith and I decided not to do a turkey, but a buffalo roast with mashed potatoes, asparagus, and gravy. Unfortunately Whole Foods didn't have a buffalo roast or asparagus, so he got two bison tenderloins and green beans.

I started the mashed potatoes and then when they were boiling away, we realized we didn't have a broiler pan...about 10 minutes of insanity ensue as [livejournal.com profile] lordaerith pan-fries the tenderloins while I try to mash the potatoes and make the gravy at the same time. And all of a sudden we realize that we hadn't prepped the green beans at all. Luckily the tenderloins were able to sit in their own juices (of which i got some to for the gravy) which softened them, the mashed potatoes were kept warm in the oven and the green beans got done just fine. I was really happy with how the gravy came out as I'd never really made gravy on my own before. It was really easy to make and I owe mad props to [livejournal.com profile] artemis42 for adding dill weed to my kitchen spices.

Dinner itself was very nice. Afterwards I forcedsubjected [livejournal.com profile] lordaerith to Horse Feathers.

Now I should probably start the clean-up process.

My house smells like good food. Dinner was good. I think I'm going to like having [livejournal.com profile] artemis42 living here, she can pick up nifty things from the Brattleboro Food Co-op (where she works). Tonight's meat sauce was made with no-growth hormone meat and organic pasta sauce. Dear lord, it's so nice to be able to know exactly what everything on the label is (without being a scientist). And the meat looked really nice! And Pandora obliged by playing nice up-beat music.

Last night [livejournal.com profile] artemis42 and I made pizzas for [livejournal.com profile] lordaerith and [livejournal.com profile] daobear. They came out so well. She and i work so well in the kitchen.

OMG, pandora just played me the weirdest song, called "Miss Jackson" by Jaymz Bee and The Deep Lounge Coalition.

Heard the new Cowboy Mouth stuff today. Some of it is post-Katrina. That stuff made me tear up. I'm sure there'll be a lot more amazing art to see/hear/experience in the near future. Makes me wish I could go to Jazz Fest. Anyone wanna buy me a ticket down there??

sunday - went to the mall w/Aerith to try and find shoes for riding and presents for my house little sister. spent forEVER trying on shoes. finally found something that mostly fix. but when i tried them on today they were too small. I told him that I'm a 10, not a 9.5!!! I hate shoe shopping and I hate my feet size, even though I love my feet. grrr

at night Amythyst and I went to Davis at 10:30pm b/c i was working in WAG on my acting 2 project and so forgot about that thing called dinner. hurray for grilled cheese. We had a long talk about whether or not Amythyst should be a rabii. I think she would make an excellent rabii!!!

yesterday was my first horseback riding leason. I learned how to put a halter on a horse and I actually got to do it!! wow!! horses are a lot bigger than you think they are. I mean, I know they are big, but when you stand next to one, you don't realize HOW big!

Aerith is sick. much worse than I was over the weekend. so i went to see him. poor boy was running a fever. so I got him juice and read Politically Correct Bedtime Stories to him. And rubbed his back when i was doing homework and he was trying to get to sleep. I don't see him online now, so I think that he is sleeping and will not be in class today. I hope he gets better soon.

The water when i was brushing my teeth started to run brown, and the same when for the showers, I decided to skip it this morning. I'll take a shower AFTER my horseback riding leason today.

so aerith and i stayed home. we finished watching La Blue Girl. yay for hentai *G*

so, i just shaved the bottom parts of my legs with a dull razor blades and my skin was covered in chlorine (since i just went swimming). i knew i needed to change the blade. ick. but i don't think i nicked myself, so that is good. I want to get a Venus razor! It was one of those up and down showers. At first we were all lovey and then my conditioner ran out so i got pissy, but Aerith put water in the bottle and so i had just enough to cover my hair.

The pool was nice and swimming was fun. Aerith and I did some noodle master ninja fighting. It made me wish that Kiten was there to join in. Well, I will get her tommorow. *evil bad kung foo movie laughter*

Now I have to make dinner. I don't want to but Aerith is being all whiny and declaring that he's not going to Haven and since I am, even though he wants me to stay home, I have to make dinner. Fine with me, but i'm going to Haven! I want to see all of my friends. Now I just have to figure out what to wear.
