Ok, I've read enough scholarly essays on blogs for my paper with [livejournal.com profile] crabes for tonight.

Time for...PICTURES!

First up we have a link to images of my mother's house as it currently is. For those of you who want to see how well it's going, here are some images of the house taken in Oct and Nov of last year.

And now, pictures of the cupcakes I made yesterday: )

I did a little experiment today. I brought in 12 cupcakes, 6 of each color frosting, 6 that said "Eat Me" and 6 that said "Don't Eat Me." The color didn't seem to matter much (they just took whichever one was in the container). However, the first ones to go were the "Don't Eat Me" ones. Near the end of the day I had 3 "Eat Me"s and only 1 "Don't Eat Me" left. However, when it was down to one of each, the "Eat Me" was chosen, leaving the "Don't Eat Me" left. But the last person to get one took it because it said "Don't Eat Me." I'm not sure what this study shows...I'm sure it has to do with human nature. Maybe I should do more studies about this. I bet my friends would like that.

So, for everyone who is concerned, my ankle is just fine. It felt a lot better on Friday, but I put the ace bandage on it, just in case. By Friday night it was fine.

However, my right knee has a nice layer of skin missing (also, I found out friday morning in the shower that I'd also scrapped up my right ankle a bit on the top.

Yesterday [livejournal.com profile] lordaerith and I went to see Stranger than Fiction with WO (a fellow grad student) and his wife, K. They are big geeks, like we are. K is also a baker. At one point I leaned over to her and wondered why the female baker who had been baking at her shop all day didn't have a single stain on her white tank-top. Other than that the movie was actually really cute and funny. The actors all gave really good performances, even Will Ferrell, who I usually think is too over the top, gave a really nice tempered performance that left all of us going, "wow, he's a pretty good actor."

Influenced by the movie last night and talks with K, I have decided to bake cupcakes today (as soon as [livejournal.com profile] lordaerith cleans up the kitchen). I plan on writing "Eat Me" and "Don't Eat Me" on them and seeing which ones get eaten :) Had to go to Michael's to get icing colors (I'd thrown out all my old ones when we moved). Ended up getting some Lightning McQueen cupcake papers. hehehe.

Now back to reading about research on blogs for Research class. The copy of the article that I think will be the most important one for our lit review has some of the words cut off at the end of lines and I don't want to re-print it. :(

ps. my cat's breath smells like cat food.

being that 1) i have less modivation than usual to get things done and 2) i don't care, i'm updating again.

I had 2 really good days sandwiched between two really sucky days.

Teh suck:
Friday:  Too much cleaning to do for party = not being able to make it to game.  Well, at least we got the place very clean and got posters up in the study (finally).  Also got to hang with the [livejournal.com profile] kiten even if the dust made her sneeze and [livejournal.com profile] pyramus showed up for the weekend.

Today:  See today's eariler post.

The good:
Saturday: Went to Six Flags with pyramus, [livejournal.com profile] lordaerith and aerith's sister and  11-year old nephew.  His nephew was scared to go on rollercosters.  So we let the three who are crazy and like the upside down rides go off on our own and he and i hung out.  I got him on the swings that raise in the air and go around.  he liked those.  So then we went down and checked out the Poison Ivy ride.  I played it down a bit for him.  So he agreed to go on it and I agreed that if he didn't like it, no one would preasure him onto another coster all day.  We get right on the ride (it was cool enough that there were almost no lines for anything).  I put my arm around him and then the ride starts.  It's a little bit more intense than I expect it to be and definatly more shakey.  I'm worried that he hates it.  However, when the ride is over, the only thing that he wants to do is to go on it again :)  So we do.  This time we sit near the front and i even get him to put his arms up once or twice.  He wants to go again, but i sugest we try something else.  We get a quick snack and do the swings again.  This time he sits on the outside swing and takes his hands off of the bars and everything.  So then we check out the Thunderbolt.  I tell him that it's not much worse than the Poision Ivy and I know that he can do it.  So we get in line.  There's this kid in front of us who keep talking and talking.  Anyway, we finally get onto the ride.  He says that he's scared and I explain that that's part of the thrill of the coster.  During the Thunderbolt I look at him and every time we hit a downhill part his head is tucked into his arm.  I'm sure by the end that it was too much.  But the first words out of his mouth was "that was awesome. I want to take my mom on it."  hehehe.  I win!  We go meet up with the others at the meet-up spot and get food.  Then he, his mother, and I do the teacups and get nice and dizzy.  Then we go to the other end of the park and he and I do the scrabler (which he now thinks is a wimpy ride).  Then his mother and I do the Cyclone.  When we get back to the boys, we go up to him and say, "hey, you wanna know what the Cyclone is like?" then I shake him while his mother punches him in the arm.  Everyone is laughing.  Then [livejournal.com profile] pyramus and I wander around for a while and we find an airbrush tattoo place so I get "KITTY" airbrush tattood on my lower back.  I don't think i have enough courage for a real one though.

When we get home, i realize that i need a 233 tip to decorate the cat cake that i made.  So I call up the party store.  They are have it, but are about to close.  As aerith isn't feeling well, we leave him at home and [livejournal.com profile] pyramus and i run to the party store for the tip and then head over to the store for booze and food for the party.

When we get back, I decorate the cake while the boys rest (aerith's sis and nephew have left by this point).  PE shows up from eastern mass and we put on Firefly to show it to him (btw, thank you [livejournal.com profile] queencimmy, you are the best sis ever!!).  Slowly other people start to trickle in.  It was a really small party, but good.  The cake came out really well as did aerith's butterscotch icecream.  And I got to cuddle with [livejournal.com profile] starcatsinging which was much wonderfulness.  Finally it was just a few of the boys and they started up [livejournal.com profile] godspiel's game cube.  I took this as my cue to go upstairs and go to bed (as i was the only one who went to six flags who didn't get to rest after the park).

Sunday:  We get up.  [livejournal.com profile] pyramus and PE leave.  Aerith's mother shows up.  We take her to the Warfield House Inn.  The ride is beautiful as the leaves are all turning colors.  It's a beautiful view from the Warfield House Inn.  We eat in the pub part.  The food is good (as always) and I win $1 at Keno (his mother paid for a game for all of us).  Also, Aerith and I got to talk with the owners a bit about our wedding, which is always good.  There's still a lot to be decided.  But we now have a ceremony start time (3 pm) and a reception is over and Andrea will kick us out with cattle prods time (10pm).  Also, we got to see the downstairs room set up almost exactly how we want it, which is cool.  The dance floor is slightly smaller than i would like, but it will do.  Also, I got florist recomendations and the first one on the list is one that someone at work mentioned too.  so that's a good sign.  And i found out that open flame is ok as long is it's not tapers.  Pillar candles, here we come!

Right, time to do something.  bleh.

I made cookies today :) Chocolate chip from scratch. and braught some to the ASP meeting. it was #1 on the agenda. :) :)

Yesterday I found out that this girl i was really close to commited suicide. we were friends in 8th grade, but then she went to live with her dad and we sort of lost touch. Her brother is my honorary brother (blue skunk, except his hair isn't blue anymore). her mom is like my mom. but i'm not really saddened by this. a little, but it's not affecting me much, i'm concerned for her mother though. Had to call the Mad Russian b/c she knew her also. was strange.

She was in my dream last night. I don't really remember much of it. I remember that I was in a house/building of some sort and talking to someone who was reading a book (?). Then I went out to this big place that was like a really large garage, it was metal with a large open area in the back.. then at some point Tamara was there. I can't remember how she looked, but i knew it was her. We were holding hands, facing each other. I was walking backwards towards an altar (?) in the middle of the room. I fell on my knees and was hugging her legs and crying. Then I don't remember what happened. but then i was walking back alone to the room where the person from earlier was.

I think i said my good-bye to Tamara. I want to say that in the dream i begged her not to go and she said she had to, but i can't tell if i just added that afterwards. I think there was something about her prying my hands off of her legs. I do know i was crying a lot. Maybe I got her from that open area and she had to return there. *shrug* I just know i feel closure.

cakes

so yesterday I decorated a dragon cake that i maked the day before for Kiten b/c it was her birthday. I worked really hard on the decoration, and it came out looking really good. I took pictures (i know, it's a little silly taking pictures of a cake, but it really is like a work of art).

Of course it was sooo hot at her place that the icing was melting somewhat. but that's ok. everyone who had some really liked it. that makes me happy because i really like baking (even if i don't like cleaning up the mess i make). Nothing can be better than people eating what you make (i always cook from scratch) and saying "wow, this is really good" and they did that last night. :)

I think I'm going to try to bake more this summer.

I also met this girl Avi at the party. we really hit it off, talking non-stop, interupting each other, telling stories and stuff. I think i want to get her number and call her up to hang out sometime.
