Since I started my new job, I've been working on our Web site redesign. It launched last night! Yay!

So check out http://www.cah.utexas.edu

(Yes, I know there are still some minor bugs, but most of them are things that we weren't able to fix until it went live.)

So, instead of getting the bazillion things read that I need to read or working on the 3-4 projects/assignments that I need to work on, I played with my Online Portfolio. I made it all pretty at the top (let me know if you think the title and/or nav bar is/are too large).

Now, before you go chastising me for not getting work done, I would like to let you know that one of the projects for my management class is to build an e-portfolio. So i was doing work...somewhat.

Saw HP and OotP. Was better that 3 & 4. Still not 100% happy. Not that I was expecting to be.

In much funnier news, [livejournal.com profile] otterdance posted about Will it blend?. Go there now. Watch a bunch of the "Do Not Try This at Home" ones, like the 12 Glowsticks or the iPhone. ([livejournal.com profile] godspiel and [livejournal.com profile] kjpepper I'm talking to you.)

I made a Mail Merge tutorial. It's not quite done yet, but most of it is there.

Hurray! I finally finished [livejournal.com profile] lordaerith's Theatrical and Professional Woodworking Portfolio Website. I'm so happy. I NEVER finish the web page projects (or almost any projects for that matter) that I start on (unless they are for work or school and have a deadline).

Also, I burned the whole thing onto CD for [livejournal.com profile] lordaerith to take with him. At first I couldn't figure out how to get a link on the main section to open the index page without people having to go into the folder. Then [livejournal.com profile] lordaerith suggested a re-direct page and that worked PERFECTLY! I've set it to 0 sections so it just flashes white for half a second.

Oh, and for you real nerds out there, I even included some Dublin Core metadata on the index page.

I finished the site I was making for my Survey of Digitization class!

It wasn't required for the project, but we wanted to do it anyway.

Here it is: McGuffey's Eclectic Primer.

edit:OMG, I just noticed a misspelling in the title tag. hurray for dreamweaver's find/replace!

Well, the draft of my website for class is as done as it's going to get. It has no images or javascript yet. no images b/c never made it to WAG. no javascript b/c what i wanted to do was too complicated for what i know right now. so, if you want to see it, you can go here. It was all hand coded. yay me. looks nicest on IE.

other than that, i'm so busy w/things it's insane. must get some sleep now so learning and fortunetelling can happen tommorow.

I am designing a webpage for a class at Smith about gamer-chicks. I am looking for quotes by gamer-chicks about being a gamer-chick. I am also looking for what exactly makes a gamer-chick (ie: being into rpgs, holding your own against the guys, etc)

If you have any quotes or quick stories (not more than 10 lines or so) about being a gamer-chick or just a list of things that gamer-chicks have to do, please e-mail me at athene@livejournal.com. Please include what name you want me to use for you on the site and if you want me to set it up so that people can e-mail you.

Thanks a lot!
Athene

P.S. to see the page (there really isn't much to it yet) go to

On monday witch-child gave me an owl pendant that she found at a tag sale and it made her think of me. It really means a lot to me. Not only because it was a present from her but also because I've been feeling like i've been loosing my connection with Athena lately (although I've picked up crochetting again to try and regain the connection). i think that the owl is a sign that she still cares and is watching over me. :)

I've found the coolest net radio station. www.perkigoth.com/music. 4 different streams of 80s, goth, darkwave, industrial stuff. i tend to listen to the first three b/c the last one is too industrial for me. But this way i'll get to learn more about the music/bands that i really like.

the call tracking system is ok. I'm starting to see the good things about it, although sometimes it's just a hassel.

amythyst hasn't been doing too well lately. I'm worried about her. I wish she would talk to me, at least so i could hug her. but she is going home tommorow. i hope she finds what she needs there.

talking about going home, i'll be going home on tuesday. i'm excited. i miss my mommy. she is the best mother in the world!!!!!

i have a huge bruse on my leg from Haven. :( It's Bjorn's fault. he picked me up and let me down too close to the edge of the box where the cage used to be. I found out that Mike has sold prYsm, so that may be the last time I ever walk out of that club's doors after Haven *pout* that's not cool. It's MY CLUB!!! It's where I feel at home. it's my haven in many sences of the word. it was also probably the last time i'll see skennedy for a while b/c she is going to Ireland. Damn it i'm going to miss that girl!!!!!! But I really did have fun at haven. the music was pretty good and i got to talk to a lot of people and have a lot of good conversations.

i almost forgot to mention that i went to the Hampshire County jail yesterday to see the performance that Aerith was working on. It was really good. it was two stories, one about someone who had been in 59 homes and the other about a household of brothers and their family and how they were struggeling to make it in the world. it was such a powerful play. And the movement piece at the end was amazing. I feel blessed just to be able to see this. It's sad that these kids have to give up some of their life because of things they did. they all seemed pretty cool. i am still in awe of what i saw.

In my dream last night the USC was in this circular room that was the only room before the harsh outside. And some people had telekenetic powers but they only worked if the object was in the same room as you. I was trying to develop mine, but it wasn't working. Then I think a ship (with pirates?) showed up. That's all I remember.

On another note, I updated my homepage: http://sophia.smith.edu/~aking
