Finally got my ass in gear and headed out to the work out room.

The treadmill was out of order, so I had to use the elliptical. I don't generally mind the elliptical, but the one at our workout room doesn't have a place for me to put my water bottle or balance my iPhone (like the treadmill does).

Found out that the episode of Top Chef that was on my iPhone was the one that I watch the last time I worked out. Ended up finding The Wedding Singer on VH1 to watch instead (if I don't watch something then I spend my entire workout looking at the time.

I still did about 30 min on the elliptical, so I'm proud of me. Putting the correct episode of Top Chef on iPhone now.

Also, Camera stopped by to say hi while I was on the machine, which was nice.

Time for bath/shower.

Yesterday was the first day where things really felt normal again.

I got up and went to work. At work I played on the internet, did a bit of work, and helped a person. yay. Also got to see people that I haven't seen in a month and feed some of them homemade chocolate-raspberry chip cookies :)

After work I did 30 min on an elliptical at the gym. Yay for me with the working out and stuff.

Then I ran a few errands both on campus and on the way home. Stopping by B&N to pick up the new book by [livejournal.com profile] otterdance that came out yesterday and then reading it while walking home totally counts as an errand.

I made dinner last night. I totally under estimated how long the chicken was going to take to cook, but it turned out okay anyway. One of these days I'll figure out this timing thing.

To end the night I went to karaoke with FireCat and [livejournal.com profile] zyrain. We were almost the whole rotation so we got to sing a lot. Various and sundry silliness was had. My favorite moment was when FireCat was singing "Stand By Me" and Zyrain and I ran up to either side of her and started swaying with her. It was sweet. :)

Ok, back to alternating between reading and watching lion cubs. At some point I'll get more work done.

...but I'm going to keep my "giving up not exercising."

Actually, that's been going really well. I was doing the 15 minutes OnDemand workout. I did it usually 2-3 times a week (there was one week where i was sick and didn't really do much of it). I liked it so much that I went to B&N (where I had a gift certificate) and bought Cardio Pilates on DVD. Ouch. There's a big difference between the 15 min version that Comcast has up and the full 42 min + workout on the DVD. I didn't even finish it the first time I tried it. But today I got all the way through it.

Now to calm my muscles in the shower.

Edit: Dear Goddess, I love that mist setting on the showerhead!!

So, I gave up not exercising for lent. So far I've been doing really well. I found a 16 min segment from Cardio Pilates on Comcast's onDemand exercise section. I've been doing it every other day. go me! I think I might actually buy the full disk...if I can't find it.

NIN last night. It was good...but as [livejournal.com profile] lordaerith got the full weight of some guy in the pit slammed into his knee *sideways* on the second song, it put a little bit of a damper on some things. Still fun though. Eventually we moved towards the back of the floor and I got to dance the way I wanted to without smacking into people (in a non-pit sort of way).

Right, time to clean this place up!
