coming out of the fog

Before I forget about it, I just wanted to record the beautiful moment from my drive to work this morning:

It was foggy this morning when I left the house.  Not an all incompassing fog, but the kind where you can't see the tree tops very well.  Where the highway was elevated or on a hill the fog was closer.  There was one time where the highway dips down and the fog was like a blanket above us.  Then all of a sudden, after coming up a small highway hill, I was out of the fog compleatly.  It was like coming out of a cloud while in an airplane (well, not as intense as that).  The sky was so blue with light white clouds.  When i looked in the rear view mirror I could see the line where the fog ended.  It was such an amazing feeling to break out of the dampaning of the fog into the sunlght.

Speaking of beautiful places, I found myself driving past the Warfield Inn the other day. I didn't actually drive up to see it, but the area around it is sure gorgeous as hell! Good pick, lady.

I love the fog around here. With Mt. Holyoke right across the street, we get a lot of drifting fogs, twining through the trees. It almost makes up for the mosquitoes that also come of being in a valley.

We really ought to do something together soon. S and I need more dorky friends, and if you don't mind my saying so, you and J are big dorks. (which is quite a compliment in my book) ^_^

I think beautiful mornings are Nature's reward to those people (usually not myself, I'm afraid) who get up and out early enough to enjoy them.
