Oct. 8th, 2003 10:52 amWell, now that i've spent over an hour trying to find pretty places to have a wedding and getting all discouraged over the fact that they all look nice and expensive and not perfect, I think it's time to start cleaning.

Date: 2003-10-08 03:33 pm (UTC)Be careful. I've heard that some floral places and some halls need to be booked at least a year in advance.
I'm lucky though, in that my mother has stated that it's my day, and within reason (she won't agree to wearing leather or being naked she says) It's my choice how the day goes :)

Date: 2003-10-09 06:22 am (UTC)wow... this just feels so surreal... talking with my friends about us all getting married... and not to some mythical dream guy!
your mom: wow, you are lucky!
my mom says that it's my day, and i can do anything i want... just so long as my dad gives me away, she gets to wear a tastefull dress, i do her makeup for her (or find her a proffessional), my hunny stomps on a glass, there's some nice traditional jewish food, the ceremony is performed by a rabbi, it's not in a catholic church.... (the list goes on, as i'm sure you can tell!)
*grin*
Erik and i are lucky... he's a mason, so we can use one of the masonic halls for the reception. and those can be booked up to 2 weeks in advance. and we belong the the uu church in town... and there's pretty much *nothing* going on in the chapel most of the time, so the minister said that just so long as we give him a couple hours notice, everything should be fine!
as for flowers, we're hoping to find potted plants. and i have a relative who does stationary, so invites are covered. and we've already got a really good relationship with fresh start catering. and our friend john (who has a couple of laurels in costuming) will be making my dress and whatever i decide Erik will be wearing.
heh... we've got just about everything figured out... 'cept the date!

Date: 2003-10-09 08:14 am (UTC)i'm getting the feeling that Athene's wedding is going to be quite the gala affair, tho!
Athene... you'll be making sure that you have at *least* 2 photographers, right?! that way we can be sure that they capture *everything*!
*grin*
