Just got home from seeing the newest Pirates of the Caribbean. I think I liked it more than the second one.

Stay through the credits! It's totally worth it.

The best line of the evening had to go to lordaerith when the Goddess turned into sea creatures. He turned to me and said, "She had a bad case of crabs."

I think that the voodoo chick really being a goddess sort of came out of left field, but it worked well with the story.

I felt that the plot was a little thin/contrived, but it did tie up loose ends.

That wedding totally beat mine. Really. best wedding scene evar!

OMG! Orlando Bloom as Captain of the Flying Dutchman...SO HAWT!!

I actually think the second one was better, if only because I was put off by all the interconversing Johnny Depps.

As for Tia being Calypso, I was actually expecting it. There was a little bit of foreshadowing- mainly she could be seen with the locket in the second one.

And right now I'm trying to figure out why Elizabeth didn't just join Will's crew. And why she didn't age over ten years.

I must say that most of the folk I spoke wih liked 3 over 2.

I'm startled that they're clearly making a 4th. Ugh.

On the other hand, Orlando is eginning to steal my heart away from Johnny. Could he have looked any more blazingly hot when he first appeared as captain???

The answer is: no, he could not.

And to respond to you, stormteller, when you are young, happy and healthy, you don't age much. I look almost exactly the same now as I did ten years ago. (I may even look a bit better now. Maybe.) There's a period, between early mid-twenties to almost forty (or a bit past, for the lucky), where you just kinda look the same and if you maintain (don't gain/lose weight, keep hair as is), your look won't change much.
