The goddamned smoke detector in the living room is making a single beep ever 30 seconds to one minute. There's no fire and none of the other detectors are going off. I already climbed on the back of the couch and pulled the battery (which wasn't easy to do b/c the plate where wires from the wall connect into the smoke detector covers part of the battery cover). Grrrr. And I can't figure out how to disconnect the wires. I already called the apartment complex office and left a message.

This beeping is really starting to get on my nerves!!!!

Edit: Went to store. Got battery. Fixed it. Aerith showed me how to pull the wires out...feel a little silly that I couldn't figure it out myself.

One summer in summerstock...

The college where the theater was housed had changed the batteries in the smoke detectors all at the same time, and had neglected to schedule Changing of the Batteries. So for about a week, every night a couple different rooms would be awakened by these deafening squawks, and there was nothing to be done but carry our pillows and blankets out to spend the rest of the night under the stars.
