So, went apartment finding today with my very nice All Austin apartment finder person.

First we looked at some pretty run down places.

Then we went to at a really nice place that didn't have anything to show us.

Then we went a little further outside of downtown area and saw two places that it's pretty much coming down to. The first is Tramor at the Arboretum, which has a 2/1 and a 2/2 available. The second is High Oaks, which is closer to the bus stop, but only has a 2/1 available.

The problem is that so many places are already all booked up. I feel like I waited way too long to do this. But i was scared and I didn't want to search blind. And I couldn't really do this any sooner. I'm just so glad that I was able to get down here at all. But my stomach is all in knots. I'm so scared of making the wrong decision. And now I can't even remember what place looked like what all that well (although I have all this paperwork at [livejournal.com profile] raven_lenore's. And I'm scared that we'll get to a place that we won't be able to afford, because who know what will happen when we get here.

but from what i've seen of the city, it seems like a nice place. The bus wasn't that hard to use. You can even call or go online to get a bus trip planner. And I like that.

This whole moving thing is just plain scary though. I know it will all work out...but still...ahhhh.

i had good luck with apartments.com when i was searching for one here. you can specify a lot of criteria to narrow things down.

have you tried austin's craigslist?

the problem with austin's craigslist is that it's mostly apartment finders, or small places that you would have to see...and as I don't currently have a car here...

Have you checked out Renaissance at Nroth Bend? Address is 12345 Lamplight Villave Ave., phone is 512-973-8000. Large apts, garden tubs, garages available (not attached though), built in 1999. Oh, and if you move in & mention me we both get $100 or something like that. :) Really though, for apartments they are pretty nice, and they have 2-2s and I think even 3-2s.

UT has "Married Student Housing", or did when I was going there in 88-92. You might want to check into it. Not sure what the requirements are, etc. etc.

You might consider looking outside of downtown (further north), if you're willing to ride the bus long-distance. I live about 45 minutes north of UT at the moment, on 183.
