It was my very first day at Smith, and I had just flown a long way all by myself and my luggage was lost.

It was also my first trip to New England.

I felt like a fish out of water and nothing looked familiar and no one was dressed like me. I went with my house to the orientation pizza party, and there you were. You approached me and claimed me as your friend and you dressed like me and you were friendly and fun and from the South and suddenly I felt like I wasn't going to die.

And I've adored you ever since.

I'm so glad you asked: it's one of my very favorite small-world stories!

It was parents' weekend. You were making the board for the human chess game, in the hall on the first floor of Seelye. I came along (with Becca or Marguerite or Melissa, presuambly) to hang out an show off my l33t juggling skillz. Along the course of conversation, someone mentioned contact juggling, and someone else asked what that meant. You so proficiently explained by referencing the Escher scene in Labyrinth. I said, "I know a contact juggler." You said, "I know one too." I said, "My contact juggler is named Michael." You said, "Mine is too." And it turned out that you had a photo of my boyfriend in your wallet! :)

i remember a few times we first met. cause i couldn't rememeber that i met you before those times.

theres the wedding when you took a picture of your boobs in exchange for a picture of me wearinga stupid thing on my head. then theres the first time i met you when i saw you at PPD last year. there was another time before those two, but i don't rememeber ;p

You were dancing with my boyfriend, with a strongly suggestive smile and bedroom eyes. As this made me quite uncomfortable, I introduced myself to you after the dance was over. You gave me a quite snotty once-over, a forced smile, and went your way. Ahh, memories!

Actually this question reminds me of something that i noticed when i was like 18.... many of my very best friends i didn't necessarily like right off the bat. It's why i have a policy of never writing someone off for a bad first impression. Expecially since it could just as likely be *my* bad day that made me get a bad first impression!

anyways... enough musing.... i have things to do like hit the post offices and pay bills. later...
