Ok, I'm going to try to organize all the photographers we are looking at into three catagories: starting price under $1500, starting price over $1500, need to contact for pricing of packages. This is mostly for me and my head, but if any of y'all want to look at their sites and offer opinions, I wouldn't object to it.

starts under $1500

• Simple in White - from Eastern Mass (maybe a travel expense)
  
• Portraits by David
  
• Saint Onge
  
• H.H.R. Paine - recommended by the folks at the Warfield House Inn
  
• Don Hawley Photography
  
• Amanda Gibavic - doesn't have a website but was the photographer at the wedding we went to the other weekend. She was fun and seemed good. Her rate is by the hour.
  

starts over $1500

• Blacklight Photo/Eric Limon - no paying for reprints
  
• Derek Goodwin
  
• Bunnell Photography
  
• Photography by Donna - I think this is the person who can put the wedding pics on canvas.

the thing about good aquantences/friends is that on the one hand they already know us and would probably be cool with the whole "hippy pagan ren wedding" but on the other hand there's the worry that since they know the guests they may be more intrusive than someone who doesn't.

I can understand your worry about friends... on your worry about a photographer who is cool with the wedding itself... I wouldn't worry. If you are paying someone to photograph your wedding.. they should (I would think) be there to do their job and take the best pics possible of what is going on. Their personal opinion on your format should have little affect on the pictures you recieve. At least that's how I would feel if I was a wedding photographer.

don't know if he would be up to it - but my boyfriend does weddings and it would certainly be well under $1500. Tony is awesome as well! :)

I really don't think that you need to pay more for meaningfull photos. While artistry is good it sometimes starts to cloud the memories the picture is supposed to contain. The ones that I thought combined the two the best were Simple in White; Don hawley; Limon; Boudreau; and Zide. But that is just my lowly opinion.
