Well, 2013 really and truly sucked. I'm not sure I've known a worse year. The following is a list of things that happened to my friends and family this year:

1 high profile kidnapping/rape/robbery. All three perps are now behind bars for a long time.

3 deteriorations of long-term relationships, including two broken engagements. 1 of the engagements broken off due to domestic violence that involved calling the police and a restraining order.

1 cancer diagnosis of early-intermediate Mantle Cell Lymphoma.

3 auto-immune disease flair-ups.

6 car accidents, including 2 happening to the same 2 people. Luckily no one was killed or seriously injured.
3 cars being totaled.

1 full-term baby dying soon after he was born, due to pinched umbilical cord during birth.

1 full-term baby having to spend extended time in the NICU due to swallowing meconium during birth, but she's fine now.

1 house flooded and large amount of possessions lost, but everyone and all pets made it out alive.

1 moving violation ticket, now wiped from record, but still sucks.



There were some highlights too including a couple of weddings, one awesome 2-year old birthday party in New Orleans, Thanksgivukkah, and trip to Sea World.

But mostly this year really sucked.

Tonight I'm going to burn a 2013 calendar.

Here's hoping 2014 is much much much better.
