Looking through songlists, talking with Addam, all these things will help solidify the playlist for the wedding. Talk with him about music he has available, as well as stuff you can get to him.
Definitely avoid the "birdie" as well as any variety of pop cheese you'd like to avoid. Are you sticking with the theme? Then renaissance/celtic/folksy ballads should be in there for the backbone, with other stuff you want to hear mixed in. It's YOUR day. Play what you want to hear, that will leave you with lovely memories. My mother's advice: Treat it like any other day. Do what you want, everyone is there to celebrate YOU. Take the time during the day to step outside of the whirlwind of ritual and make a memory.. it will be over very fast.
