Saying you're bisexual or attracted to "both" sexes doesn't really fit if you don't believe gender is limited to two types. So even though Athene doesn't prefer it, that's the idea behind the word pansexual - to express that you are potentially attracted to members of "all" sexes including men, women, intersex, genderqueer, MTF, FTM, etc.
